President Droupadi Murmu Credits Civil Servants for India’s Rise as Economic and Political Power

President Droupadi Murmu in Hyderabad said India’s rise as a major economic and political power has been driven by the dedication and integrity of civil servants selected through public service commissions, highlighting their crucial role in governance, policy implementation and sustainable national development.

Hyderabad: President Droupadi Murmu on Thursday underscored the pivotal role played by India’s civil servants in shaping the country’s emergence as a significant economic and political force on the global stage. Speaking at an event in Hyderabad, she said the nation’s progress has been strongly supported by officers selected and trained through the country’s public service commissions.

The President noted that civil servants have been central to building and sustaining India’s institutional strength. She said that the administrative framework created by these officers has helped translate democratic intent into effective governance, enabling the country to advance steadily across sectors. According to her, the contribution of civil servants has gone far beyond routine administration, extending to policy execution and long-term national development.

Highlighting the qualities required in public service, President Murmu emphasized that dedication, integrity and commitment among civil servants form the backbone of successful policy implementation. She observed that the effectiveness of government programmes and reforms ultimately depends on the sincerity and professionalism with which they are carried out on the ground.

She further stressed that the consistent efforts of civil servants have laid the foundation for sustainable development, ensuring that economic growth and political stability move forward together. Their work, she said, has helped maintain continuity in governance while adapting to changing national and global challenges.
